Jenny and Chris say “I do” in a microwedding on Turkey Mountain!
about the couple.
I’m borrowing from Jenny with the following. “When you’re both cheesy and separately buy the exact same card to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of the first time you ran together. 😍
I recall saying something on that run along the lines of “I don’t have time for a serious relationship” to which he replied “well, I think if you meet the right person you’ll find the time”. And I’ve seen that right person just about every single day since!
Best. Run. Ever.”
I couldn’t sum this couple up better if I tried! Because this is a family on the go! Chris and Jenny are both athletes and this is reflected in everything they do. Jenny is a TATUR (Tulsa Area Trail & Ultra Runner) frequent volunteer with the TUWC, and mom of two boys. Chris is a cyclist, triathlete and converted trail runner as well!
why Turkey Mountain?
With this zest for life it was only fitting that a microwedding would take place on Tulsa’s crown jewel Turkey Mountain. Mother Nature even got involved in the festivities and offered a brief reprieve from blistering 100°F temperatures complete with a gentle Oklahoma breeze.
With this couple always on the go who has time for a big to do wedding? Family members were invited to the intimate ceremony (and a few woodland creatures who worked with the bride in the getting ready… perhaps Disney was on to something here.)
Jenny’s dad escorted her down the single track trail to the pond selected to be the ceremony site where Chis and the boys were waiting.
Family circled the couple as they said their vows. In the late July heat the ceremony was brief but the love and excitement were obvious! After the ceremony we scampered off to capture portraits before the sun fully set. These are a few of my favorites!
the formal portraits
Many thanks to Jenny, Chris, and the families for including Beyond Ordinary Life Photography in the Wedding festivities at my favorite place in Tulsa; Turkey Mountain.
venue details
Thank you to those who had the foresight to set aside Turkey Mountain and protect it from development, the City of Tulsa, River Parks, and the volunteers who work to maintain Turkey Mountain.
Soon the happy couple will be celebrating the family they have created with family and friends! Congratulations Chris & Jenny, may your hearts always be happy!
