Over the weekend, I had a chance to participate in Tulsa River Lights presented by the Williams Companies.
What is Tulsa River Lights?
The idea behind the event was a holiday treat for the community to get outside and enjoy River Parks with family and friends. To kick off the holiday season, River Parks Association in conjunction with RunnersWorld Tulsa, Andolini’s Pizza, Theatre Tulsa and Beyond Ordinary Life Photography each presented something to the community in our respective areas. RunnersWorld Tulsa hosted a Fun Run and Ugly Sweater Contest, Andolini’s Pizza provided pizza, and Theatre Tulsa provided the entertainment. As for Beyond Ordinary Life Photography? We came out with our studio equipment and photographed all who signed up!
For an event like this reinforcements were required. I drafted my mother and my mentee Jasmine to assist me in this undertaking! With their help 112 families were photographed at Tulsa River Lights. For some attendees these are the first family photos they have ever had taken by a real camera. For others it was a chance to update the Facebook profile. Regardless of the reason people attended, I found that it was a thrill to give back to my community; Tulsa.
